At Gather Moms, we love to help families make the most of every season. Holidays give us natural opportunities to slow down, reflect, and teach our kids lasting values—and Thanksgiving is one of the best times to teach gratitude.
This simple Thankful Tree activity is an easy and meaningful way to bring the whole family together to focus on thankfulness. You don’t need to buy anything fancy—just gather a few bare branches, place them in a vase or jar, and use our printable leaves to write down what you’re thankful for.
Kids love clipping their leaves to the branches and watching their tree “grow” with gratitude! It’s a beautiful visual reminder of all God has provided and all the blessings that fill our lives.
You can do this as a one-time family night or keep it up all November long—adding new leaves each day leading up to Thanksgiving.

A Moment to Reflect
As your family adds leaves to your Thankful Tree, take a few moments to talk about where our gratitude comes from—that every good and perfect gift is from God (James 1:17). This simple tradition can plant deep seeds of thankfulness that last far beyond the holiday season.
